1st of May

So today marks the 1st day of May and everything has been wonderful as a beginning to May. April was a good month. I am now fully recovered from my overseas trip and back to my normal happy self. My brain is as alert as it can be and i'm absorbing lots of information which I lacked 2 months ago. And it's just in time too - because I have soo much assessment due. I finally get the mechanics behind Admin Law and i'm so happy about that. I'm not so stupid after all! haha!

Today is also 'Fiesta Day'/ Fiesta weekend in my dad's province. lovely how lovely!

So to update my news from last week.
last Sunday: was a normal day - i don't think i did much aside from study. That X-factor show was on and frankly - i am not at all entertained by that show. it has gone dowwwwn hill. I do not care who wins... as long as Russell does not win. there's just something about that guy that doesn't click with me.

Monday: i don't know what came over me but I was eager to decipher the inner workings (aka plot and storyline [i think these two words kinda mean the same thing]) of Harry Potter. So i decided to watch all 3 movies of Harry Potter and now I finally get it. what a boring day that was. oh yeah: it was ANZAC day too. Jasmin made Anzac cookies. they were yummy.

Tuesday: since ANZAC day was a public holiday, Tuesday officially became "mondayised" for university purposes. So i had a 12hr uni day that day. (with the help of May and Gloria) I managed to attend all 3 tutes and 2 (two hour long lectures) into that day. And i was buggered. i had such a headache and my eyes hurt like heck. i think all us girls were buggered. I also bumped into Huy and he told me he was studying 2 law subjects. haha! now he knows what i keep complaining about. so chatted for a while and then met up with him and bennet 40mins later at the refec. Then ate pizza Z with my buddy Michelle. Then i had my tute where we were taught how to properly moot. ie 'advocacy'. I will have to do an advocacy exercise in the moot court and i'm kinda nervous about it. In a sense, I get to utilise my public speaking skills which I so miss from highschool. I used to do public speaking every week on assembly. I had no problems speaking to 1200 school kids and teachers about Public Relations events and activities: that was fine. I had no problem also speaking at debating competitions every month... too easy. but now: i'm a bit uneasy about the whole concept. Nonetheless: i will approach this exercise with a positive outlook and a huge smile on my face.

I will look professional, i will dazzle the court - i will give them the old 'razzle dazzle' and then tell you about my ordeal after.

The good thing is that my friend is my opponent so i won't make a fool outta myself in front of a stranger. haha!

Wednesday: i was on the phone alot this day: calling alot of people: and doing alot of errands for my dad who was overseas. I had to go to our old house and check that the previous tenants left everything spick and span. They didn't do damage so that was all good. but the whole process of checking entry and exit statements on the lease takes about 2 hours. I think it's because the person was being really meticulous. i guess it's better to be safe than sorry... it rained for a bit that day. it was a pleasant day actually.

Thursday: had uni; did uni stuff and then had my regular dose of Cardio Funk. I actually get my instructor's instructions now. I felt so cool. hahaha I could actually follow properly. I love it when we get to dance to Missy Elliott's "pass that dutch" - awesome just awesome. But now I want to add another class to my list. I think i'm going to take up Body Combat again. ie Tai Bo. I loved it at the last gym I joined. so hopefully the university program is just teh same if not better than my last Body Combat classes. Those classes really get u motivated I'm serious. oh yeah and today the UQ Union services were closed down in light of the protests against the VSU. The refec was closed and the legal services office was closed and all these other services were closed with each office covered with yellow and black tape. hmmm... a powerful statement...?

Friday: i decided to be a cleaning nut and cleaned the house: top to bottom including mopping the floors. The house looks very clean though. I studied. I called people. I got distracted for a while and then the weekend came! yay! Oh yeah I remember what I got distracted with. There is this advertisement on TV. There's this puppet dog (like the dog from Wallace and Gromit) and he's sitting on a chair in what appears to be a 'psychiatrist' room. The psychiatrist is holding a white board in front of the dog. The white board has pictures on it of random items. Everytime he shows an item to the dog... the dog responds by saying the word "Bacon".. but when he says it it's pronounced as "Bake - ennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn". So for the rest of day - i had the word "Baconnnnnnnnn" repeating in my head. Oh yeah and there's another annoying advertisement: that Brisbane Convention Centre advert (which the guy screaming his head off) - anyways - everytime i saw that ad (the words 'Baconnnnnnnnnnnnn' would enter my head) and then i'd go off into a laughing fit.
to digress:
In American Idol news: Constantine (the smouldering idol) - was voted off. It's now up to 'Bo' to carry the Rock Idol status to glory...

Saturday: I don't why but I woke up feeling happy. It was a very pleasant day. In the morning i went to the laser cartridge printer refill store and exchanged the old laser cartridge for our computer with a new laser catridge. And then my sister and I went shopping for goodies for our Ozum picnic. Then went to the Ozum picnic and it was pretty funny to see that everyone brought Chicken. It was Chicken eating day. Chatted and helped provide some organisation for next week's Mother's Day gathering. should be an interesting day next week. And also that day was my Lola mummy's birthday!
