Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Most poems rhyme,

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!

Personally - this day makes me hate everything in the whole wide world - moreso than other days because everybody (well, not everybody) but people aside from myself are receiving roses, getting teddy bears, getting kisses and hugs from their boyfriends and partners - and i'm on my lonesome with nothing and noone.

Sure, love should not be rushed but any potential partners that i will have in the future are taking their goddamn time to find me! arggh!!

On a lighter note, i think i will be too busy to stop and shout my contempt of the day because i'm going through rigorous training at work to upgrade my skills - - i think it's pretty good since i've been asked to progress to a higher level of training and i haven't even been there a year yet! woohoo - - but at the same time - eek!

Just thinking of the money and the skills - most importantly - - the skills

The Wuthering Heights review

This book took me a long time to read but i finally finished it on Thursday.

I didn't realise the story involved so many characters and i constantly got confused with the names. But yes i didn't realise the underlying theme of the book centred around women having a lack of rights in ole' England and that when a woman married a man, all her property would become his and all his property would remain his. The woman would not be able to have title to any of it regardless of whether she divorced him because he committed adultery or was abusive etc.

It was so unfair in those days i must say. The chapter of the book that defined this moment was when Heathcliff forced Cathy to marry Linton (her cousin) so that all her property would fall under Linton's name, and since Linton was terminally ill, all his property would in turn become the property of Heathcliff. It's a cruel system seeing how the law blantantly disregarded women's rights in those days. But yes, that's what i learnt - the real gritty past of English laws.

And here i thought i was just going to read a romance novel.

The beginning was a bit slow but it picked up well. It seemed like everybody was sick and that Wuthering Heights was a gloomy place and wet and miserable but apart from that, the story was interesting.

Verdict: 4/5
